PROJECT SCHEDULING & CONTROLLING AND RISK ANALYSIS TRAINING OVERVIEW

The course is structured around a five-phase process that provides a step-by-step framework for learning about and doing project management in the Industry.  The course focuses on key technical practices and issues relating to each of the five project management phases as well as on “human dynamics” which are critical success factors in project management, such as planning & scheduling and risk, gaining consensus, problem-solving, meeting and coordinating, dealing with change and team-building.

By attending this course, participants will:

  1. Use the work breakdown structure (WBS) to develop a network diagram
  2. Calculate schedule using PERT / CPM to determine critical task
  3. Predict work time using specific levels and estimate types
  4. Plan for contingencies and anticipate variations
  5. Predict future project performance based on historical data
  6. Apply Montecarlo simulation with Risk Analysis Software

THE PROJECT SCHEDULING & CONTROLLING AND RISK ANALYSIS TRAINING SYNOPSIS

Organizations are increasingly requiring schedule risk Analysis in advance of key decision points to make sure they have a realistic view of their project timeline or schedule. Projects often overun their schedules because the schedule is not the idealized perfect schedule but is influenced by forces that lead to an infeasible plan form the beginning. Both good quality project scheduling and risk analysis will provide a complete of the prospects for the projects timeline. The Project Scheduler and Project Manager need to know “The Schedule Best Practices” and assure him that these are being applied. Schedule risk analysis is a tricky subject for some organizations that have not yet adopted the concept and practice, although it has been available for over 20 years. Management has a pivotal role in making risk analysis a successful and Managers need to know what they do to facilitate or hinder the exercise.  Participant in this course will receive Earned Value Management (EVM) knowledge, which puts the information you need to determine schedule, cost, estimate at completion, estimate to complete values and project performance indexes.
